Industry Common Induction (ICI)

Overview
The Industry Common Induction (ICI) provides staff with a health and safety induction for working in construction sites, rail depots and station maintenance. It has been developed by Network Rail, in partnership with ISLG (Infrastructure Safety Liaison Group) and RIAG (Rail Infrastructure Assurance Group). It covers the safety procedures and risks that are common across the rail industry, whatever the role and type of site

Course Summary
ICI consists of a self-paced e-learning module, followed by an online assessment which individuals must pass in order to again the competence.

The e-learning takes about 1 hour to complete. Once an individual is confident that they know and understand the information in the e-learning, their sponsor will book them a place to attend an assessment at an approved assessment centre. The assessment will take approximately 40 minutes to complete, and no reference materials are allowed.

Key Aims
The aim is for the ICI to become the entry level competence for working in the rail industry, covering the general induction information that is common to all.
